The Guwahati-Dubai service begins August 4, 2026, operating every Tuesday: departing Guwahati at 12:25 pm and landing in Dubai at 4:10 pm local time, with the return leaving Dubai at 5:10 pm and arriving back in Guwahati at 12:25 am the next day. The Guwahati-Abu Dhabi route follows on August 7, 2026, flying every Friday — departing Guwahati at 11:30 am, landing in Abu Dhabi at 3:15 pm, and returning from Abu Dhabi at 4:15 pm to reach Guwahati at 11:30 pm, per the Tribune's coverage.
This marks Air India Express' first international operations out of Guwahati, which is already one of the airline's largest stations with roughly 120 weekly domestic flights, according to Gulf News. The route is being positioned to serve tourists, students, business travellers and the Northeast's diaspora community in the Gulf, while also strengthening trade ties between the region and the UAE.

Northeast India has historically had thin, expensive connectivity to international hubs outside a handful of Southeast Asian routes.
